Leon Fan is a product designer, AI explorer, and art curator passionate about blending creativity, aesthetics, and design thinking to create meaningful digital experiences. Leon focuses on how AI agents transform product discovery and how design teams can work alongside AI to balance fast delivery with high-quality and responsible outcomes.
At CIID, Leon explored how large language models can improve museum experiences, support arthritis care and dietary health, and protect user privacy. In his capstone project, he investigates how these models reshape the design process, highlighting how designers’ core values may shift and why key moments of judgment should remain human-led. He is committed to building responsible AI agents that strengthen human creativity.
Before joining CIID, Leon worked as a product designer, developing solutions such as an NFT trading platform and helping clients expand their online presence. He has a strong foundation in creative problem-solving at the intersection of technology and culture.
Leon’s background in the art world also informs his perspective as a designer. As a founding team member and research director at the Longlati Foundation, China’s first art foundation dedicated to feminist and minority voices, he collaborated with international galleries such as Lisson Gallery and Salon 94.
Leon practices sports and martial arts outside of work to cultivate focus and resilience. He enjoys sharing skills and learning alongside others, discovering how design and technology evolve together.
