During karaoke, there’s always someone who sings a little more quietly or holds back. loud.lamp responds to this by playfully casting a spotlight on them — not to pressure, but to show support. This subtle shift in lighting draws attention in a positive way, helping people feel seen, included, and more confident to sing freely.
We started by exploring the meanings of “loud” — not just volume, but also boldness, brightness, and self-expression — and how that relates to individuality. By experimenting with a flashlight as a symbolic spotlight, we observed how light can influence behavior and mood in social settings.
