Digital Product Design

One day in 2012, Alec really wanted a burrito. Instead of getting the burrito himself, he started moving shapes around, imagining an app that would let someone else bring him the burrito. This idea became Flippo, a platform for busy students to save time and earn money completing tasks for each other on campus.

Since that fateful burrito, Alec has been inspired to design products that connect people in new ways and improve daily interactions. He’s been the founding designer at three early stage companies, working in San Francisco, and then remotely from Los Angeles, Mexico City and his hometown of Pittsburgh. Most recently, he led design at Catch, where he managed a team of three other designers.

Now, he’s excited to dive into new kinds of problems, learn from designers with different backgrounds and expand his practice beyond digital interaction design.

Outside of work, Alec loves playing soccer (football), woodworking and exploring new cities by bike and on foot. He can’t wait to meet everyone, build some cool stuff together and eat his way through Bergamo.
