The brief was to design a product that celebrates an experience the team had in Bergamo. The idea was inspired by the diverse emotional rollercoaster the teammates each experienced while settling in the city. Realising that new students often face similar feelings, the team decided to turn their personal experiences into a fun and helpful solution for others.
The proposed idea is a card game, which is divided into six emotional categories: stress, loneliness, hangry, boredom, tired, and Non lo so ( when you don’t know how you feel!). Each category not only comes with a list of local activities tailored to these feelings but also includes a surprise item to match the emotion—like a bar of chocolate in the hangry box to satisfy those hunger pangs.
For instance, the stress cards suggest relaxing activities like wandering through Bergamo’s serene spots, lonely cards encourage social fun and the hangry cards list the best food spots in Bergamo (including “La Frasca,” our school kitchen)—because we all know that food can fix anything. The bored cards inspire adventure and the tired cards provide creative options. And the Non lo so cards offer a mix of ideas on how to explore Bergamo and make the most of the student experience. Each category box also has a wild card for an unpredictable, adventurous activity to spice things up!
The value of this card game is its ability to provide emotional support in a fun, interactive way, helping students transition smoothly into their new life in Bergamo. By offering city-specific, tailored activities, the cards aim to connect students to the city and one another, turning emotional struggles into exciting new experiences. So whether you're stressed, hungry, or just bored, there's always a card to lift your spirits!
