In this biomimicry-focused project, our team designed solutions to protect dragonfly habitats in Astino Valley, Italy, threatened by water fluctuations from droughts and floods.
The team researched dragonfly ecosystems and drew inspiration from natural systems like mangrove roots, bromeliad leaves, and lotus anchoring to create a prototype that adapts to water extremes.
The project emphasized designing for non-human users, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the importance of scalable, nature-inspired solutions for ecological challenges.
The team is actively seeking expert feedback from different disciplines in 2025 to refine the design, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration to develop scalable, nature-inspired solutions.
