The team was tasked with creating a short film that embodied their journey to CIID and Italy. Inspired by some uncomfortable, unexpected, and tense moments they all had experienced, they aimed to create a short film that evoked these same raw emotions in the audience.
The film uses a series of abstract visuals and sounds, like cooking scrambled eggs with the shell and aggressively chopping an onion to symbolize their experiences and convey feelings of discomfort. Yet, amidst this tension, hope emerges. The film’s conclusion reflects the shared sense of renewal and optimism that each team member found in their arrival at CIID.
By sharing their personal stories, the team invites viewers to empathize and recognize the resilience and strength that people can possess, even in the face of adversity. Through the creative film making process, the team gained a deeper understanding of how visual storytelling can powerfully engage the senses and stir emotions.
