Mosaic of Memories is an installation designed to visualize the essence of human connection. Created within 24 hours as part of the team-building course at CIID, we were tasked with designing an interactive experience that reflects our feelings since arriving in Italy.
The installation features 3D-printed artifacts, each representing moments of kindness where we felt a connection with strangers as newcomers to Bergamo. Visitors were invited to hold these objects and read brief stories of how these moments brought people together. When placed on a scale, the artifacts triggered an interaction: two figurines symbolically “connected,” representing the impact of shared experiences. Visitors could also reflect on their own meaningful moments by sculpting an artifact out of playdough, writing a short memory, and contributing it to the installation.
The project was designed with the hopes of future participants reflecting on and leaving behind memories, resulting in the exhibit evolving over the course of time. The installation encapsulates the transformative power of shared kindness, turning individual experiences into a shared tapestry of community.
