To develop their concept, the students reflected on their individual move to Bergamo. They all came from different cities yet managed to find activities or places that felt familiar in a short amount of time. Maps (whether digital or physical) proved to be vital for the student team to discover parts of Bergamo and document where they've been.
Thus, the final artifact is a series of “scratch and discover” maps in which the user removes the paint off of areas in Bergamo that they’ve visited and share their memories of that location with the person next to them. A video projection of our walk through Astino Valley played in the background to remind everyone that though we have differences in our interests or backgrounds, we are all similar by taking the same path to school. We believe everyone found a new local spot through this activity!
