January 2025

Bergamo, Italy — Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID) is proud to announce the launch of a scholarship programme due to the support of the CIID Network. This initiative underscores CIID’s commitment to making its Interaction Design Programme (IDP) accessible to a diverse group of talented individuals from around the world.

Scholarship Opportunities

The scholarship programme has been made possible through the generous support of the CIID network who are dedicated to fostering the next generation of interaction designers. Each scholarship offers unique selection criteria and financial support, covering between 25% and 75% of annual tuition fees. These grants are designed as non-repayable awards, with no strings attached regarding post-graduation work or residency requirements. The programme aims to support students in their educational journey and equip them with the skills to contribute meaningfully to creating a regenerative planet and society.

For the inaugural phase, CIID is excited to announce scholarship commitments for:

  • Students of Costa Rican nationality
  • Students holding EU country nationalities
  • Italian nationals residing in Italy

Eligibility and Application Process

All scholarships are exclusively available to students accepted into the IDP cohort starting in April 2025. Applicants are not required to submit separate applications for scholarships. Instead, scholarship eligibility will be determined based on the official IDP application, which includes an essay, portfolio, CV, and letters of recommendation.

After completing the admissions process, CIID will identify scholarship recipients. Applicants will be notified of the outcome alongside their programme admission decision, enabling them to make informed choices about joining the programme.

About the Interaction Design Programme (IDP)

The IDP is a transformative one-year programme hosted in the historic former Monastery of Astino in Bergamo, Italy. This full-time programme, conducted entirely in English, is open to candidates from all academic and professional backgrounds, including engineering, design, architecture, social sciences, and more. With an optional six-month post-programme phase to strengthen professional networks, the IDP equips students with the skills needed to design products, services, and environments that positively impact people and the planet.

The programme incorporates real-world projects, collaborations with leading companies and a hands-on, project-based learning approach. Students will work on themes such as digitalisation, sustainability, and circularity, preparing them for dynamic careers in interaction design and related fields.

Application Deadline and Further Information

The selection process for the April 2025 IDP cohort is now open. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible to maximise their chances of admission and scholarship consideration. Comprehensive information about the application process and programme structure is available at ciid.dk.

For further inquiries, prospective students can book an individual session with the CIID team through the website.
