Shoshana is spending a year in Copenhagen to work on CIID’s strategic positioning and a broad range of stories. Her remit is to build a robust communications capacity, to tap into its global network, and to represent CIID across multiple platforms. She also serves as the Editorial Director at IDEO where she acts as editor-in-chief of IDEO’s Octopus, oversees all storytelling platforms, and has led projects on modern Judaism, death, and lunch. The question at the root of these endeavors is always the same: How might human-centered design change things for the better?Shoshana was Senior Editor at WIRED and the founder of WIRED Design. She cofounded the do-it-yourself design magazine ReadyMade in 2001 with one business partner, 10 credit cards, and 10 interns. ReadyMade was a finalist for National Magazine Awards in 2005 and 2006 and was acquired by the publisher of Better Homes & Gardens in 2006.She has written for: The New York Times, WIRED, Sunset, Marie Claire, Amazon, Travel + Leisure, Popular Science, SPIN, Salon, and many other publications. She’s the author of ReadyMade: How to Make Almost Everything and a forthcoming book from Simon & Schuster with Dr. BJ Miller, titled A Beginner’s Guide to the End. Buy her a latté and ask her anything.
