Monika is an Interaction Designer with a background in art, photography and filmmaking. In her work, she engages at the intersection of emerging technologies, digital media and the natural environment, creating sensory rich, interactive spaces.Monika’s practice focuses on building mixed reality worlds that blend the digital and physical, working with a speculative mindset and experimenting with design approaches. She investigates how immersive experiences that explore possible futures can define the role of ethics in building contemporary systems. In recent years she was involved in European Commission international academic research projects that explored topics of Critical Heritages, Fusion Energy Futures and Ethics & Technology collaborating with the institutions such as LSE, Newcastle University and IT University of Copenhagen.She has exhibited and presented internationally: Ars Electronica, 26th Biennial of Design in Ljubljana, Climate Action Summit at United Nations and World Economic Forum in Davos 2020 among others. Her work has been awarded by IXDA, Core77 Design Awards and Dezeen Awards.She teaches about the topics of design, speculation and biology at various design and art schools such as The Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen, CIID and Hyper Island.
