A freelance consultant in the area of innovation strategy and service design. Marianne is often involved from the early stages of service innovation, using ethnographic methods to gain a profound insight into the user and ensuring that concepts fulfill both expressed and latent needs. Companies she has worked with include: LiveWork, Walt Disney, LEGO, Orange, Samsung, Nokia, Engine Service Design, Nissan, Toyota, Ford and Volvo.Previously Marianne worked as Head of Design Strategy at the Design Council providing strategic design direction across a wide variety of innovation projects and programmes, such as Independence Matters (developing services for an aging populations), Low Water Living and Designing Out Crime. She has extensive experience from leading projects in the health sector including: Design for Patient Dignity, Improving the A&E Experience and Living Well with Dementia.Marianne holds a PhD in design and innovation, focusing on how organisations handle product qualities that cannot easily be measured. She enjoys teaching and supervising and has taught at Central St. Martin and given guest lectures at Royal College of Art and Design Academy Eindhoven.
