For over 15 years, Heather has been using design as a catalyst for positive change. In her practice, she gathers insights from varied disciplines, combines those with whole ecosystem user needs mapping, and develops product/service vision strategies and concepts that are timed to market demands. Her proven recipe for evaluating ideas is equal parts socially relevant, innovative and sustainable.Heather currently heads Design Strategy and Future Vision for Vodafone Group R&D, leading a number of projects including KashKlash, on digital social currency; El Forsa, a mobile barter platform in Egypt, and most recently, an international research collaboration on Digital Things, exploring the meaningful actions and relationships between people and their digital possessions.Prior to Vodafone, she led design of T-Mobile’s MyFaves, Adobe InDesign, and has consulted for multinational clients including Microsoft, AOL, Razorfish, and Adobe, as well as start-ups in game design, remote collaboration, e-book publishing, and online financial planning. She holds a degree in Design and Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University, and is a founding fellow of THNK, Amsterdam School for Creative Leadership, focusing on Resilience and Complex Systems. She is a regular speaker on Foresight and Innovation at conferences, and is founder of the Shape of Things network.
