Aram Armstrong is an interaction designer, design thinking coach, and workshop facilitator.Aram started Generative Ventures in 2015 as a platform for sharing his design thinking practice, teaching creative arts (artLABmaui), and working with community change agents (Maui Farm Laulima).Aram was a core member of Fung Academy from 2013-2015, leading knowledge sharing, innovation and experimentation initiatives within the Fung Group’s leadership development programs as a designer, innovation coach, and workshop facilitator.At the Fung Academy, Aram delivered a wide variety of innovation, technology and collaboration workshops and trainings for leaders from Li & Fung, Fung Retailing, and Global Brands Group. He also conducted in-depth research into wearable technology, the future of manufacturing (3D printing), and omnichannel retail in Asia.Aram spent 7 years at IDEO as an Interaction Designer doing design and research for new products, services and experiences for a wide range of organizations including American telecoms, Chinese manufacturers, and both the US and Singaporean gov’ts.Across his career, Aram has worked with clients from across Asia, Europe, the US and Australia including Nike China, Microsoft, AT&T, Paypal, Accenture, Fujitsu, Kohl’s, Steelcase, NYU, TCL, CP Group, Siemens’ R&D, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower, gaining fluency in drivers of change and culture.Aram holds a Masters degree in Interaction Design from the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, Italy, and a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts in Interactive Media from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
