Learning interaction

This lecture reviews the intersection of machine learning and interaction design. It will focus on applications of neural networks which infer, describe, and map high-dimensional data fast enough for a human being to respond to it. As machine learning becomes more adept at information processing, the scope of interaction design will gradually widen to include scenarios previously unfit for automation, challenging designers to consider how to integrate these new capacities into their workflows in the most beneficial ways. The lecture will include a demonstration of ml4a, a collection of practical resources to help artists, designers, and activists acquaint themselves to AI.

When: Tue, June 13th 2017, 5 PM.
Where: CIID, Ground Floor
