Varenya Raj

Nationality: Indian
Area of Expertise: Graphic design, Prototyping and Photography

Varenya studied graphic design and has a keen eye for still and moving images. Born and raised in a small town in India, he developed an understanding for the importance of catering to the needs of the people. His immense interest in socially relevant issues led him to work on a side project to solve for road emergency situations in the country.

He likes to work with complex projects that allow him to investigate deeply and then channelise his skills into weaving a delightful solution. He believes that technology should be recognised as an extension of our minds and that design can play a significant role in achieving that.

After graduation from the National Institute of Design, Varenya worked for over two years in the field of e-banking and healthcare as a UX designer. He has helped companies like SAP in the field of product discovery and development which have since been implemented in the industry. He enjoys delving into strategic and planning parts of the product and seeks to learn from people with different backgrounds.

At CIID, he is enthusiastic to learn design skills, methodologies and processes from faculty members and fellow students to help him evolve into a better designer.
