Slice the City

We can physically only be in one place. With Google Street View, we can be virtually in another. Slice the City stretches the limits and gives you an instant impression of a whole neighborhood.

The app displays a map of the user’s current location. By aiming the phone into a direction, the user can “aim” the slicing of the city. When the user taps the screen, the app uses the compass, GPS and map data to determine which streets are intersected. All the necessary Google Street Views are downloaded and presented as a row of slices. Together, the slices form a new street view, the composition of which can be played with by the user.
