Industry Partnerships

Over the past 15 years, we have developed a framework for industry partnerships and Industry Projects. We are very open to exploring new types of collaborations and would like to engage in a dialogue with interested partners to identify mutually beneficial ways of working together.

It is possible to sponsor specific projects, classes or equipment – and to support the overall educational offering.

The Crusa Foundation supports CIID through Industry Projects and scholarships in Costa Rica. They have also provided funding for the digital fabrication lab which is intrinsic to the work we do.

Intel and the Lauritzen Fonden sponsored the initial technical equipment for the project it-lab in Copenhagen. Manfrotto sponsored camera and lighting equipment.

Our founding partners include: Novo Nordisk, Velux, Maersk Line, The Danish Ministry of Economy and Trade, The Danish Ministry of Culture, and The Danish Design School. KADK and Kolding School of Design hosted our Interaction Design Programme while it was in Copenhagen.

The CIID Industry Fellowship Programme provides an opportunity for companies to sponsor a resident position for their employees at CIID for a specific period of time.

The goal of the programme is to give the Industry Fellows the possibility to experience the CIID studio environment and to explore the design approach, tools and methods of CIID. During the residency, Industry Fellows are encouraged to develop self-led projects that push the boundaries of practice and research in their respective disciplines.

Intel Design School Network
CIID was part of The Intel Design School Network – a network of five of the leading design schools around the world – alongside Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California College of the Arts in San Francisco, Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and the Royal College of Art in London. Intel Corporation partnered with these schools to enhance the learning environment by introducing students to innovative technology and promoting creative thought leadership where technology and user experience collide.

Microsoft Design Expo
CIID was invited as one of nine schools to participate in the Design Expo at the Microsoft Research Faculty Summit. Together with researchers around the world, Microsoft aspires to generate groundbreaking ideas, techniques, and tools that enable them to gain the greatest benefit of the data revolution for the good of society. CIID joined other leading academic researchers, educators and engineers, to explore future technology trends that will define the twenty-first century.
