Transmediale 2014 ResidencyTuesday, 31st Dec 2013
David Gauthier and Jamie Allen from CIID’s research team are taking up the incredible opportunity of the Transmediale 2014 residency project.
The project will be in a research and workshop mode for most of 2013, switching into production of a festival-scale artistic work for the winter festival in Berlin. From the project description, “These are the unnoticed, assumed and taken-for-granted resources and reserves of matter, energy, signals and data that enframe the possibility of an art-and-technology practice.”
Exciting times for our research team, and exciting prospects and projects coming soon to Berlin!
Transmediale is an annual festival for media art and digital culture taking place for one week in February in Berlin, Germany. The festival engages in reflective, aesthetic and speculative positions in between art, technology and culture.
Within the scope of its annual festival, transmediale includes exhibitions, conferences, film and video programmes, live performances and publications.
CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE is a transmediale project collaboration unfolding throughout the autumn of 2013, funded through the Canada Council of the Arts.
