Building an app-enabled hardware company

Vaavud’s mission is to provide high-resolution, personalised weather information. The company was formed in the beginning of 2013 and has launched two different smartphone connected wind meters on Kickstarter.

This lecture will cover the journey Vaavud has been on so far, and talk about some of the challenges they have faced along the way

Thomas originally studied auditing and accounting, but joined McKinsey & Company and worked as a consultant for 7 years rahter than becoming an auditor. Afterwards he was VP of Finance for the hearing aid manufacturer GN ReSound, which got so boring that he quite the job and became an entrepreneur. This lead him through a couple of own projects, and a stint as CFO of Endomondo, before co-founding and becoming the CEO of Vaavud.
