Social Robotic Donuts
In this talk on robotic expression, Harvey presents his expanding silicone donuts, pulsating latex flowers, and jumping wooden tripods – playfully reflecting on the assumption that social robots should be cute or like us humans. These experimental objects are part of a recent design research project at the IxD Lab (IT University of Copenhagen), where material curiosity and unusual elastic expression are used to inspire intriguing new encounters with technology.
Harvey is an industrial designer and physical prototyper based in Copenhagen. He designs and builds products with Performing Objects Studio and teaches digital design methods with a focus on thinking through making at the IT University of Copenhagen.
When: Tues. October 16th 2018, 17-18.

Where: CIID, Toldbodgade 37B, Ground Floor, 1253 Copenhagen K.
