Peter Darche

Peter Darche is a software engineer and data scientist working in NYC. He’s currently at the Recurse Center, where he is focusing on projects that use personal data to help people understand and improve their lives and social impact.

Prior to the Recurse Center he was a data engineer at DataKind, a non-profit using data science to increase the effectiveness of other mission-driven organisations. There he developed the organisation’s internal data systems, managed technology, and supported its data science projects. He was also lead developer at Datavisual, a platform for easily creating data-driven charts and graphics.

Peter’s interested in a wide range of ways that data science, engineering, and visualisation can be used to make the world more just and sustainable. He received his MA in applied statistics from Columbia University and his MPS from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program.
