Gitte Jonsdatter

Gitte Jonsdatter is a researcher, designer and educator who uses business anthropology and design thinking to help companies identify new business opportunities, and to set strategies for growth.

Her current focus is on developing, an entrepreneurial platform for emerging fashion designers.

As a design strategist with IDEO from 2001 – 2007, Gitte led projects in a broad range of areas that included banking, healthcare, hospitality, IT services, real estate development and education. As part of the Smart Space practice, she focused on space and service strategies, often working closely with client groups to bring design thinking and ethnographic methods to their internal teams. Prior to IDEO she was a freelance communication & events designer in NYC.

Gitte has served as adjunct faculty at the Institute of Design at IIT, lectured at Stockholm School of Economics, the Art Institute of Chicago and Parsons, and is often invited to speak about human-centered innovation.

Gitte received a Masters in Human-centered Communication Design from the Institute of Design in 2001, and a BFA from RISD in 1989.
