Engin graduated from Stanford University with degrees in Architectural Design and Engineering. He received project fellowship on green buildings from US Environmental Protection Agency and Merage Foundation. Between 2007 and 2011, Engin worked as the sustainable design consultant in the European and US offices of ARUP.

After graduating from New York University’s ITP Masters program with a degree in interactive design and media arts, Engin returned to Istanbul in 2013 to co-initiate ATÖLYE, a transdisciplinary innovation platform. As a co-founder and head of design at ATÖLYE, Engin is focusing on leading interscalar design projects, honing the organization’s design culture and sharing reflections on ATÖLYE Insights Medium page. Between 2013 and 2016, Engin also worked as an adjunct instructor in Bilgi University, Faculty of Architecture.

Engin’s work has been published in Monocle, Dezeen, Designboom, Architizer, Creators Project, Infosthetics, ArchDaily, XXI, GOOD Magazine, Atlantic Cities, and Make Magazine, among others. He also shared his work at conferences and exhibits in New York, Tokyo, San Francisco, New York, Barcelona, Chicago and Istanbul, including two TEDx presentations.
