David Yun

David Yun is creative director and founding partner at Wax Studios, based in Brooklyn, NY. David leads a conceptually-driven design team on interactive and branding projects for clients ranging from MoMA and The Rubin Museum to Nike and Gap.

Prior to founding Wax, he worked at design and branding firms 2×4 and Pentagram, for clients including the Guggenheim Museum, Dia Foundation, MoMA PS1, USC School of Architecture, Barneys New York, Office for Metropolitan Architecture and MTV. At Pentagram, he worked with Lisa Strausfeld and a team from MIT to develop the first GUI fro One Laptop per Child. He has lead UI and UX projects for arts, cultural and design institutions including New York City Opera, The Rubin Museum of Art, and for fashion clients such as Levis and Moda Operandi.

David has taught and served as visiting critic at Yale School of Art, Columbia University (GSAPP), Rutgers University and the New York Center for Art & Media Studies. He currently runs a thesis seminar at Parsons the New School for Design. David holds a BFA in Anthropology and Music from Wheaton College, and MFA in Graphic Design from Yale School of Art.
