Anxo Lopez

Anxo López is a designer that leads design strategy at BBVA’s design transformation team. Anxo holds a Ph.D. for his dissertation covering the topic of design as an economic activity in the Spanish industry of the 21st century.

He began his career developing projects of communication and visual design for different companies and institutions. From his position as a designer doing different projects, he started to care about design as a strategic function. First at XVDMC and later at Designit. He has worked for clients such as Bancolombia, BBVA, Ferrovial, Gas Natural, L’Oréal Paris, Leroy Merlin or Vodafone.

He complements his activity as professor and lecturer. He has taught classes and conferences in places such as IE, SCAD, IED, UAX, BAU, Miami Ad School, U-TAD or EOI. As an entrepreneur, he had founded Miúdo (selected by Telefónica Open Future as an emerging company for its 2014 acceleration program). Throughout his career, he has dedicated special attention to the promotion and diffusion of design and the creative industries. Currently, as a member of DIMAD’s Board of Directors.
