Mahum Jamal is a Pakistani-American filmmaker and artist based in New York. She most recently wrote and directed the feature film Haunted (2016).

Mahum attended Barnard College at Columbia University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies with a minor in Religion.

Mahum was raised in the Silicon Valley in a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation. Her interests include interactive design, transmedia storytelling, and entrepreneurship, particularly projects with a theoretical or religious bent. Mahum’s future projects involve cultural and artistic development in urban areas of Pakistan.
