Andrei Speridião

Applied service design techniques

Country: Brazil
Areas of expertise: Product design

My name is Andrei Speridião, born in São Paulo, Brazil. I’m 24 years old, with a bachelor’s degree in Design at the University of São Paulo ( USP – Universidade de São Paulo ).

Since very small I’m interested on drawing and interacting with objects around. That led me to become self taught in 3D and computer graphics since 13 and doing my first professional job for Peugeot at 16. I’ve entered the Design course at University at 18 and at the same time started working with CG, realtime engines advergames in a small studio in São Paulo.

At the end of 2008 I was invited to work at CUBOCC where I held a hybrid technical-artistic position in the game department for about four years, where many high end games and realtime interactions were developed for clients like Unilever, Rede Globo and Google. Meanwhile at University my interest for design and interaction consolidated and at FLAG I started studying and practicing 3D printing.

Today I’m leading Iceland 2nd Nation, a new unit focused on Design and Technology inside FLAG. Internet of things, digital fabrication, human interface, wearable computing and virtual reality are our main focuses of work and research. In this new position I’ve actively collaborated on projects for Samsung, Unilever (Hellmann’s), Google, Coca-Cola and more.

In my spare time I like travelling, taking photographs ( and studying electric / bass guitar.
