Omar A. Razo

Nationality: USA
Are of Expertise: Graphic Design

Omar Razo is a graphic designer from Southern California, whose projects have included logos, books and promotional work for artists and musicians. He is the youngest of six in a family whose parents emigrated from central Mexico to California nearly fifty years ago.

Omar is currently a master of many trades at Idyllwild Arts Academy, a boarding arts high school, where his musician wife is on faculty. His infectious personality naturally draws others to him, and one can be sure to hear an unending supply of silly puns and other jokes when he is around. The students love him so much they voted for him to be their guest speaker at the 2019 Baccalaureate Ceremony.

Omar’s lightheartedness has led him to Interaction Design, as he is passionate about creating things that encourage user involvement, and play. Though he loves beautiful typography, he is excited to learn how to design projects that have a much larger connection to different populations. He is particularly interested in gender-inclusive design, both in experiences and in products.

When he is not musing over new design concepts, Omar loves to watch films, listen to obscure bands live, travel internationally, enjoy ramen and sweets, and spend time with his wife and their two cats.
