Kosuke Machida

Nationality: Japanese
Area of Expertise: Strategy in Life Insurance Business, Digital Transformation

Kosuke has been working as a strategy and business consultant for PwC Japan for the past 2 years, and he is focused on the insurance sector. During his time at PwC, he has focused almost entirely on digitally-oriented and experience-design projects including: digital transformation, analytics enabled digital health engagement and agent-customer experience design. He was responsible for project delivery and management in collaboration with multiple stakeholders and worked as a bridge between the business, technology, and design disciplines.

Other than project delivery, he has dedicated himself to internal affairs – people engagement. He is a founding member of a 60-person financial services team where he launched a programme that aims to manage the most attractive training in the firm – and he has accomplished it.

From his experience working as a consultant, he is very confident that interaction design methodology sparks drastic change and makes design projects succeed among Japanese traditional conservatives. He plans to launch a design firm that has a specific design methodology for the Japanese market in multiple industries after the programme.

He loves to broaden his horizons and obtain new skills and mindsets. For the past few years, he has been spending his time on asset management, photography, and graphic design to establish new business on his own.
