Joey is a people-obsessed person. She believes that if our projects benefit people, we can make a huge positive impact on the whole world. In the past 4 years, she worked at Uber – the ride-sharing technology firm. During her first assignment, she helped launch Uber in her hometown Shenzhen, China in 2014. As a founding member, she helped build Uber into a popular app despite huge competition environment back at that time.

She later worked as a Regional Operations Manager focusing on customer lifecycle experience in Uber Asia. In this role, she initiated data-driven strategic regional projects and important user behaviour research aiming for imporoved product management.

After a few years working in the tech company, she started to think about other possibilities to use her knowledge in different areas that might have an even bigger impact on people. This is when design came into her mind. As she explores more into this area, she strongly hopes to dig deeper. She would like to apply a design approach to address real-life problems and solve them in an artistic yet practical way.

Joey is more than excited to join CIID as a first step towards her journey in design. She’s looking forward to working with different talents on inspiring new ideas in the future.
