Laurin Kraan

Nationality: Switzerland
Area of Expertise: User Interface Design

Laurin is a User Interface Designer from Zurich who combines creative thinking with scientific approaches and a well structured way of working. This combination, which is rather unusual for a designer, results from the diverse experiences he has made during his education and professional work.

In 2013, Laurin graduated with a degree in Business Engineering from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. This broad study allowed him to gain an insight into the topics of technology, business administration and design.

After a stopover in marketing, Laurin has been working as a User Interface Designer for Swisscom for the past four years. During this time, he was involved in launching two new products: a cloud service and a smart home solution. He managed to give Swisscom’s rather aged customer base an understanding of these technical topics through vast simplification and target group oriented dialogs.

At the beginning of 2018, Laurin reduced his work pensum to 90%, which enabled him to spend more time on private projects and learning new skills such as icon design and programming.

In his free time, Laurin enjoys playing games, from ping-pong to board and computer games, spending time in the nature and exploring the variety of craft beer.
