Jacob Meesenburg

Country: Germany and Sweden
Area of expertise: Supply chain management and Business studies

Born and raised in Germany, Jacob graduated from high school in New Zealand and continued his education with a BSc. in Business Administration and Sociology at Copenhagen Business School. Seeking a more applied learning, he then progressed with studying a MSc. in Supply Chain Management. During his studies at CBS he studied 2 semesters abroad. One of them at the Singapore Management University, the other semester abroad in Gothenburg Sweden, where his mother’s family comes from.

In context with his Master thesis he gained work experience in Switzerland at one of the most advanced mechanical fastening systems manufacturer. His project explored how IoT devices can help to create a leaner supply chain in large manufacturing companies and support them to have a more efficient and safe procurement method. This was the time when he came across the field of interaction design and since then has developed an interest in this field.

After finishing his studies, he started with working in Nordea Investment banking he then shifted his career path to a small Danish design company where he worked closely with the sales and management team.

With his stay at CIID he strives to connect some dots between the commercial world and the more creative field, which so far is rather unknown to him.

He is also looking forward to learn more about the relationship between new technologies, humans and their user experience in a multidisciplinary environment.

In his free time, you will often find him on the water, doing all kinds of water sports.
