What is it?

The GIFvj application is a tribute to early internet aesthetics and gaming culture. It is an initial attempt to make a simple, yet entertaining and flexible vj application. Two selected folders on the host computer are scanned for animations and patterns. These patterns and GIF animations are included and modified in the software, generating a flexible and ever-changing lo-res graphics mash-up.

Since the workshop, the GIFvj application has been developed further and is now an integrated part of the live show of the gameboy band: la belle indifference.

How do you interact with it?

Using a simple 2 button navigation setup, the gifVJ application is essentially a state machine, which allows you to change through different modes of the program with one button, and launch actions with the second button. Pressing both buttons simultaneously brings up the menu.
