Aiwa is an IoT wearable device that enables couples that are ‘separated’ due to work related reasons to come together and share a glass of wine that emulates the physical characteristics of drinking together which includes intimacy, personal relaxation and sharing about their day to each other.

The team designed this device after multiple iterations; starting from a low fidelity paper prototype to a high fidelity 3D model with detailed UI. These prototypes were iterated after multiple user testings and feedbacks. In a world that is increasingly becoming dependant on connected home devices that share resources and information between them, a device like Aiwa explores data, behaviour, value and relationships within the home and demonstrate new possibilities for connected devices, adapting and incorporating new and old technologies to create truly useful experiences.
