Watsdis is a mock-up of a machine-learning enabled magnifying glass. It is designed to help people with visual disabilities (specifically pre-surgery cataract patients) to more easily identify their things at home. This helps visually impaired people feel more at ease in their own homes, and maintain their independent lifestyles despite their condition.

The product concept involves an object recognition scanner trained by a machine-learning algorithm, that provides audio feedback when an object is scanned through its magnifying glass lens. Another feature also allows the user to record voice memos for more sentimental and important objects. These personal sound recordings are then played back, helping the user identify when the more personal objects are scanned.

The video was shot with a Sony a-III and 50mm lens, and edited with Adobe Premiere Pro.
