Light Flute

Light Flute is a handmade electronic instrument.

The body is constructed of brown cardboard and features buttons on the outside and a concealed battery housing at one end. On the inside, it holds an intricate network of copper tape and LEDs, encrusted with glitter and glass pieces. One can play the light flute by holding it up to one eye and pressing the buttons in any combination or pattern. Each time a button is pressed, a different series of LEDs in a specific color light up, providing a spectacular and personal show.

Light Flute was the result of a two-day exploration creating a simple instrument as part of the Materials of Electronics course.
