Shift: Experience Prototyping

The service concept for Shift emerged from the key question “How can we learn more about ourselves by exploring someone else’s routine?” To test the idea of recipe exchange as a way of learning more about oneself, various touch points of the user journey were prototyped during this course.

The initial prototypes focused on the creation of a recipe, the form it would take and how users could exchange this information. Target users were brought through different parts of the service both online and in person.

Learning from the successes and failures of the prototypes, the subsequent experiments concentrated on discovering specific aspects of a recipe that create value and how the experience of connecting people through recipes could be made more personal.

Instead of exchanging full recipes, the service would focus on how you can learn more about your own identity and expand upon it by sharing your food hacks or recipe tweaks with other members of the community.
