Luuk Rombouts

Nationality: The Netherlands

Area of Expertise: Industrial Design, Interaction Design

Before Luuk joined CIID, he earned a BSc in Industrial Design at the University of Technology Eindhoven. During his time there, he worked with several clients such as KLM and NS Railways to create innovative products and experiences. He has done an Integrated Design Exchange at the University of Southern Denmark to go in depth on the engineering side of Industrial Design.

Before his graduation, Luuk worked as a freelancer which evolved into working for a couple of start-ups throughout The Netherlands. Projects were about activating elderly people socially or envisioning a supermarket of the future, others concentrated on sharing platforms for mobile travel or new mobile puzzle games.

He is interested in creating intelligent products and systems which serve societies looking beyond material wealth – and working more and more on self-improvement. He chose to come on the Interaction Design Programme to learn about usability, accessibility, international collaboration, intelligent programming and entrepreneurship, to develop products and systems that make people happier and inspire one’s life.
