Pressure Sensitive Brake Light

Commuters often cycle to work in dense crowds of other cyclists – without the ability to determine when those ahead are rapidly braking, it is extremely easy to end up in an accident.

This pressure sensitive brake light allows a cyclist the ability to indicate to those around them that they are slowing down, and the rate at which they are doing so.

Using a conductive carbon based fabric, the pressure sensitive brake light is stitched together with conductive thread and then wired to the LEDs in series. The fabric is mounted on the brake lever – as the cyclist applies more pressure while slowing down, the lights grow brighter, exactly in the same manner as a car’s brake lights function.
