Subtractive Reality

Subtractive Reality is a proposed selective sensor processing method to improve focus on the things that matter. In a world of a billion sensors and constant information overload, we are losing the ability to focus.

Instead of further layering and augmentation to capture our attention, we propose a concept for subtractive reality through selective sensory filtering. This kind of processing can be applied to sensor readings from devices such as Google Glass and other present and future augmented reality devices, though inverting the paradigm of augmentation to subtraction.

By selectively canceling noise in sound, vision, and other senses, we achieve a greater focus on the people we love, the things we enjoy, and the work that matters.
