While we live in a world of a billion sensors, their potential to connect remains largely untapped. Loose data streams would be more valuable if aggregated and made discoverable. How might we connect those who need data with those that can provide it?

Sellsor is a platform that allows individuals to make money by selling access to their sensor data through an open marketplace. It opens up vast troves of data the were previously inaccessible, doing so in an efficient and transparent way.

At a basic level, the architecture is fairly simple. Sensors provide readings from the environment, and subscriber pay to access this sensor data. These subscribers can be companies, NGOs or other  kinds of organizations. Payment are done via a crypto–currency, as it would allow for a global reach with minimal transaction fees.
