Slit City – Slit Wind

As a part of further explorations into the nuances of making the invisible visible, we tried to study the ‘slit-scan’ technique to uncover different behaviors between people, objects and their surroundings.

The first experiment showed interesting results like the difference between the speed of vehicles and people moving across on different planes. It proved fruitful to reveal the exact moment of movements during different actions and their relationship with time.

The second video was more experimental in nature where we built a small portable art installation that we could carry along with us to discover the patterns of wind and how our installation behaved when influenced by it. The fluttering of the paper flaps showed precisely how different speed and directions of wind affect their movement in outdoor spaces.
