Chris Bierbower

Country: US
Area of Expertise: Interaction Design

Chris is interested in how design and technology can be used to inspire positive behavior change and make users more productive. He worked at NASA’s Advanced Capabilities Unit where he helped in the collaborative design and implementation of a satellite interface for developing nations to monitor crops and population migration, and alternative methods of issuing commands to robots.

This was where he realized the opportunities presented by applying technology to everyday tasks in a humanizing way. When he learned about interaction design as a discipline he dropped everything to begin pursuing it.

Chris received a degree in Interaction Design from the University of Queensland before joining CIID’s Masters programme.

Chris graduated from Duke University in 2007. Originally from Washington DC, Chris has a background in cognitive psychology and multimedia. He is excited about the upcoming year at CIID.
