Wormalizer is a 3d “worm” that forms a spatial journey around a 3d structure created by ambient audio and your body movments. Face tracking was used to control the worm, so when a face was on the left side of the screen the worm would steer left and so forth. Some of the vectors for controlling the worm were calculated slightly incorrectly so it is hard to feel that you are totally in control. The height of the worm is decided by the volume of sound picked up by the microphone in the computer. The original idea was to have 2 people to interacting together, so one would control the worm and the other the camera. In the end I decided that if there was more than one face detected by the camera, the worm would change colour very rapidly.
