Sindhumandari

Nationality: Indian
Area of Expertise: Experimental physics, material characterization

Growing up in a family of artists, Sindhu has always loved to explore her creative side, be it through her violin or getting messy with watercolours. She holds a Masters degree in Physics and since graduating she has lived in Mumbai. She worked as a Research Fellow at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research for a couple of years. Later she joined Bloom Energy where she worked as an analyst in fuel cell failure analysis and material characterization.

During her work experience, Sindhu developed an interest in UX design. She took up courses related to visual and UX design, and applied it to projects at her workplace to solve user problems. Transitioning from the scientific community, she finds the design process very similar to the scientific process, but with the user as a focal point.

At CIID, Sindhu hopes to explore the intersection between art, technology and design to tackle complex social problems. She hopes to create meaningful and engaging user experiences by working with a diverse group of people from different backgrounds, and looks forward to a unique, multi-cultural experience.
