Søren Stig

Mr. Søren Stig (45) is an impact investor, board member, mentor and social entrepreneur. He’s Founding Partner of The Shared Value Company as well as Ashoka Denmark. He acts as partnership and innovation advisor to the United Nations, foundations, private companies and a number of exponential organizations.
Søren brings a wealth of commercial and strategic experience from various boards as well as a very broad international network. He has been on the board of the Danish chamber of commerce in Hong Kong and Copenhagen Business School’s Blue MBA.
Søren has held various senior-level positions at A.P. Møller – Maersk A/S for almost 20 years. Most recently as Chief Sustainability Officer for Maersk Line where repositioned Maersk Line as industry leader. He received KPMG’s Global strategy price (2011) and the European Business Award (2010) based on sustainability efforts and industry leadership.
Prior to this he was Global Head of Sales for Maersk Line and responsible for the commercial strategy and planning of the company’s 25+ billion revenue. The role included direction and oversight of more than 6000 sales people in +125 countries. Prior to this he was responsible for Maersk Line’s key customers in Asia Pacific with a base in Hong Kong/Shanghai, Head of Supply Chain Solutions for Maersk Logistics based in Singapore, Deputy Managing Director for Maersk Logistics EMEA in Holland. He graduated from Maersk’s Management Trainee Program in 1995. Prior to this he spend 2 years working and studying in the United States (New York & Evansville)
Søren Stig holds an Executive MBA (Honors) from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has supplemented his international shipping management education through various leadership courses in the United States, through the A.P. Moller – Maersk group and most recently at Singularity University in Silicon Valley.
Søren is a Danish native and now lives in Rungsted, North of Copenhagen. He is married with a son and a daughter.
